Two New Scalp and Hair Formulations

We are happy to announce two long-awaited additions to our collection of scalp and hair formulations! These products are designed to support scalp and hair facing two kinds of problems generally associated with aging: loss of hair (balding), and loss of hair color (greying).

• Many seemingly-balding scalps are not actually hairless but are covered with tiny, delicate, fragile hair (vellus hairs) rather than long, thick, robust hair (terminal hairs). Our new Terminal 1 scalp serum provides special support for vellus hair. Terminal 1 is formulated to improve the appearance of  vellus hair so, in time,  it looks thicker and longer. After being used daily for at least a month, Terminal 1 should be alternated with Terminal 2, which will be announced here when it is available in about two weeks; alternating these formulations provides  dynamic synergy and more pronounced results.

  Ingredients in Terminal 1 include: panthenol, MCT oil [medium-chain triglycerides], gamma amino butyric acid [GABA], ascorbyl palmitate, betaine, L-glycine, conjugated linoleic acid [CLA], climbazole, lauryl gallate, isonicotinate-N-oxide, grapefruit oil [Citrus grandis]. More about ingredients composition will follow.

  

• Hair can lose its color due to aging, stress, and other factors: “grey hair” is actually colorless hair, having lost or failed to develop its natural color; it is often also fragile as compared to the non-grey hair on the same person’s scalp due to structural degeneration at the core of the hair. Our new Micellarin Hue shampoo features our especially-formulated extract of bhringraj [Eclipta alba], traditionally used to prevent greying and maintain the youthful appearance of hair, together with other natural ingredients. This shampoo will increase the hue of faded hair and improve other physical properties of hair.

  Ingredients in Micellarin Hue include: bhringraj extract [Eclipta alba], jojoba oil [Simmondsia chinensis], gamma amino butyric acid [GABA], L-tyrosine, salicylic acid, cupric chloride. More about ingredients composition will follow.

Cooling Cream Features Aloe and Cucumber

Continuous Improvement

Every day, we make a point of finding something to improve.  Some improvements are major innovations; others are just slow, steady progress on long-running projects. Some days we improve several things. Some improvements are only visible to us. Today, we have two good improvements to announce:

• We have updated the product information page for Micellarin Green Shampoo to list the ingredients in our latest and greatest scalp-stimulating, botanical-rich batch. We’ve added some essential oils, and rearranged some structural ingredients; we like the fabulously-aromatic result, and we think you will like it, too. For botanical ingredients (extracts and essential oils) in the shampoo, we now give both common English names (such as ginger root) and INCI names (such as Zingiber officinale), which we hope will make it easier for our shoppers world-wide to recognize their favorite ingredients; this is how we identify ingredients at The-Formulator, and our plan is to continue adding INCI names to product information pages for our stock retail formulations as we revise and improve them.
• By popular demand, we have published a photograph of the contents of our Scalp Renewal Regimen Kits. You can see the photograph at the product sales page for both the Men’s Scalp Renewal and Women’s Scalp Renewal Kits. We may change the packaging at any time, but this gives you the idea: it’s a great price on a six-month supply of high-technology scalpcare formulations designed to work synergistically together.

January Skincare of the Month relaxes skin with deep creases and wrinkles

DeCrease™, our Skincare of the Month for January 2009, has been mailed to qualifying customers.

DeCrease™ will relax skin and improve the appearance of deep creases and wrinkles around lips and eyes, and at the forehead between the eyebrows. Unlike fine lines, deep creases in the skin can be strongly connected to contracted muscles which underly the skin and constrict it, creating folds within the skin surface. This situation requires a product which can relax the skin surface so it can reassume the smooth appearance of healthy young skin.

The use of Botox to achieve such an effect is risky since Botox is one of the most powerful poisons known to science and when injected under the skin its effect is to paralyze communication within the nerve-muscle network which is beneath the skin. Poisoning of the nerve-muscle signals for the purpose of skin relaxation and moderate-good straightening of wrinkles is quite a high price to pay. Our product is applied topically rather than by an injection. Our nanotechnologies-based vehicles carry the product deep into the skin. Our product is based on natural actives and botanical extracts which create a high level of skin relaxation and results in improved appearance of deep skin creases and wrinkles. Appearance improves in just minutes after application and the visible effects can be maintained and built up with time.

DeCrease™ is a natural partner for our DeLine™ and Deline Green™ creams, which are designed to soften fine lines under eyes . • botanical extracts of valerian root, arnica flower, and passionflower leaf
• essential oil of frankincense
• cocoa butter
• oil-soluble ascorbic ester (Vitamin C)

• lysine, arginine, hystidine (amino acids)

Frankincense is a traditional topical anti-inflammatory, and cocoa butter is used around the world to smooth and soften skin.  When taken orally, other ingredients in DeCrease™ address many issues related to deep skin wrinkles: arnica reduces swelling and edema; passionflower reduces tension and nervousness, acting as a muscle relaxant, analgesic, and nerve sedative; valerian and GABA are muscle relaxers, with GABA reducing nerve stimulation of muscles.
